Research & Creative Interests
In short, I study the cultural politics of work. I take a critical approach to organizational life, analyzing mechanisms of power, control, and resistance. My research is heavily influenced by Critical Theory and Cultural Studies. My current research projects include an analysis of corporate campuses using Foucault's framework of governmentality; a critique of strict bureaucratic forms and their potential undermining of diversity goals; and an examination of the intentional blurring of work/life on behalf of organizations that further inserts employees into capitalist production.
