    The Civil Service Council serves as the voice for all civil service non-negotiated employees at Eastern Illinois University. Now is your chance to get involved and represent your colleagues!

     

    We are seeking dedicated individuals to fill two-year terms for the following districts:

    ·         District I: President, VPUA, VPAA, and VPEM areas

    ·         District III: VPSA area

     

    We are also seeking to fill a one-year term for one alternate from the District II: VPBA area.

  • Mobile Mammography Van on campus April 17 - Signups Available

    Sarah Bush Lincoln Mammography Services will once again have their mobile mammography van on campus, providing digital mammograms.  The van will be on campus Thursday, April 17 at 9 a.m., located in the drive between the Alumni Clock Tower and Lumpkin Hall/Library Quad.  This service is available to all women aged 35 or older.  Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins will be accepted as time permits.  Please call 1-800-639-5929 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

  • Blended/Hybrid Mental Health First Aid for Adults 鈥 March 27, 2025

    A Blended MHFA course will be offered, with the in-person segment being held on March 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Prior to the in-person segment, participants will need to complete the pre-test and several self-directed modules.   Those interested in registering should complete the registration/interest MACHFORM found at /mentalhealth/mentalhealthfirstaid.php no later than March 21 to allow time to complete the pre-test and self-directed modules prior to the training.

    Any staff and faculty member who provides academic, professional, and/or personal support to students or advises a student recognized organization is highly encouraged to complete this training. 

    Mental Health First Aid teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to mental health and substance-use issues. Participants will learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn to for help. Topics covered in this course include depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, on-campus resources, and intervention strategies.  This training is not intended to help one become a counselor, but to help provide early intervention and encourage those in need to seek appropriate assistance and help.

    As we prepare for the summer term, we need to ensure that all faculty expecting summer pay from grants and any student employees funded by grants are properly accounted for.

    • If you anticipate receiving summer salary from a grant, please notify the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in delays or missed payments.
    • If you plan to hire student employees using grant funds this summer, please inform us promptly so we can initiate the necessary hiring process.

  • Annual Campus Sexual Misconduct Climate Survey Upcoming

    Eastern Illinois University is conducting an Annual Campus Sexual Misconduct Climate Survey as required by Illinois Law. The Illinois Board of Higher Education Task Force created the survey for distribution to all higher education institutions in Illinois. The purpose of the survey is to provide information about behaviors and perceptions that current students have related to the University. 

    Student participation in the survey will assist the University in its prevention and awareness efforts. Student participation is voluntary and may be withdrawn at any time. Responses will be confidential. The survey will be sent to students via email the week of March 10, 2025 and remain available until Friday, April 18, 2025.

    At the conclusion of the survey, students will have the opportunity to click on a separate link to include their name and contact information if they would like to be included in a drawing for one of twelve $25 gift cards for dining dollars. No identifying information will be attached to survey responses.

  • Volunteers to Serve as Mental Health First Aid Instructors Sought; Application Deadline April 15

    Eastern Illinois University is recruiting individuals who will be willing to serve/volunteer as Mental Health First Aid for Adults Instructors.

    Selected individuals will need to have completed the Mental Health First Aid for Adults training prior to the hosted/onsite Train the Trainer currently scheduled for May 12-May 14. Selected individuals will be required to complete pre-training work, attend all 3 days of training from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., complete post-training work, and then provide at least 3 trainings per year to the 91成人视频 Community to maintain the MHFA Instructor Certification.

    Additional meetings with other 91成人视频 MHFA trainers and participation in occasional events is expected. Instructors are also expected to deliver in-person, blended, and on-line modalities dependent on how funding allows classes to be offered.

    Part of your responsibility in driving a university owned vehicle is to report any accidents involving that vehicle to Mike Hutchinson the University Risk Manager. You will need to come to Old Main - Room 1140 within 48 hours to fill out a claim report. If there is a police report, please bring it with you. Incidents involving damage to university property must also be reported. If you are unable to come into the office, call (217) 581-2921.

  • 2025 Summer Office Hours Begin Week of May 12

    Per IGP#19, campus-wide summer office hours will be in effect from Monday, May 12th, through Friday August 8th, . When summer office hours are in effect, all offices must be open Monday through Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until noon. All administrative offices (and others where possible) will remain open during the lunch hour, Monday through Thursday. 

    Holidays will be observed on Monday May 26th, for Memorial Day, Thursday June 19th for Juneteenth and Friday July 4th for Independence Day. For the holiday weeks, employees will need to work with their supervisors to make up time for a 37.5 hour workweek.

    Each office is to change voice mail, signs, and other public communication to reflect its summer hours. Regular business hours will resume on Monday August 11th. Questions may be directed to Human Resources office.

    Through a new Illinois state-wide partnership, Eastern Illinois University students will now receive free access to Kaplan’s industry-leading test prep resources for graduate admissions exams, licensure, and credentialing exams, as well as skills development courses.

    This new program, called  is administered by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC). These educational tools are here to augment our existing resources and help prepare students to take the next step in their career journey after graduation. This program will provide our students with free access to  40+ courses; equipping them to take required exams such as the GRE®, GMAT®, MCAT®, LSAT® and more.

    What test prep courses are included?

    The course options available will vary depending on their degree level. See the full list of courses offered at .

    How much does it cost students to participate?

    Nothing, it’s free to students.

    When does the free access start?

    The portal to enroll and begin courses is available now. Students can enroll whenever they are ready by visiting .

  • Facilities Reinvestment Report Now Available

    The Facilities Reinvestment Committee has released its final report outlining a multiyear, phased approach to enhancing 91成人视频’s facilities. Additionally, the external assessment conducted by Cordogan Clark is now available for campus review.

    As part of Plan 2028, 91成人视频’s strategic plan, this reinvestment initiative aligns with the "Create" theme, emphasizing the need for comprehensive campus-wide facilities and capital planning. The last campus Master Plan was commissioned in 2010, and in the past 15 years, 91成人视频 has undergone significant changes in student and employee demographics, population and space utilization. However, campus facilities and landscapes have seen minimal updates. This reinvestment plan is designed to address these evolving needs and align with 91成人视频’s long-term strategic goals.

    1. The recipient(s) may receive the scholarship one time only.
    2. The recipient(s) must be a full-time undergraduate at Eastern Illinois University and have completed at least twelve (12) semester hours at the time the award is selected.
    3. The recipient(s) must be the child or grandchild of a current Eastern Illinois University employee with five or more years of service to the University OR the child or grandchild of a retired Eastern Illinois University employee with five or more years of service to the University.

    Applications are being sought for the 91成人视频 Civil Service Council scholarship established to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the 91成人视频 Civil Service Council. 

    Applicants that receive financial assistance or tuition waivers are encouraged to apply.  The scholarship is intended to assist with tuition, fees, or other costs associated with attending 91成人视频, such as housing, supplies, daycare, gas, etc.  The award is payable in Fall 2025 to your student account, and any remaining amount will be dispersed to the recipient.  Fall 2025 enrollment must be verified before the scholarship is distributed.

    The recipient must:  1) be a former, current, or retired Non-Negotiated Civil Service Employee; or a child or grandchild of a former, current, or retired non-Negotiated Civil Service Employee; 2) be a current or incoming freshman, sophomore, junior, senior or Graduate 91成人视频 student at enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester hours; 3) maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and in good academic standing; high school seniors accepted to 91成人视频 shall enroll in a minimum of 6 semester hours of coursework and be ranked in the top 25% of their class.  Financial need shall be the determining factor if all other qualifications are equal.
