Graduate Assistantship

Two positions available for FY26, estimated dates of August 2025-June 2026. **Pending the availability of grant funding for FY26**

Employment Requirements: Graduate Assistants are required to work 19 hours a week, including some evening and weekend commitments; in-office hours required (COVID-19 may change expectations). Students applying should have a bachelor's degree, as well as maintaining a 3.0 GPA minimum. Degree background in health promotion, health communications, community health, psychology, public relations, or counseling /interest in alcohol and drug prevention is highly preferred. Experience with public health & research is greatly encouraged.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Ability to work at least 19 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m - 4:30 p.m.)
• Create marketing materials for IHEC events, meetings and webinars
• Create and distribute monthly newsletter and other informational materials, such as an events calendar, as assigned
• Update and maintain IHEC Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts & other social media sites needed
• Develop, maintain and update Illinois Higher Education Center website housed on 91成人视频 domain
• Assist in the development and writing of educational documents (white papers, research briefs, literature reviews, brochures, etc.)
• Assist in planning and implementation of higher education, statewide substance abuse prevention and intervention trainings, webinars, IHEC affiliate meetings and  statewide conferences.
• Participate in training activities as directed, including orientation activities, staff development, and scheduled meetings with supervisor
• Research alcohol, other drug and violence prevention topics as it pertains to program development, marketing & research projects
• Assist in evaluation of programs and surveys as needed
• Specific skills in computer database programs and desktop publishing may be necessary for website development & media management
• Network with appropriate student/university organizations, field experts, and statewide committees as an IHEC representative
